From the epic views of Chichester from the Goodwood Trundle or a Sunday stroll through Singleton followed by a hearty homemade meal and refreshing drink. Here is a guide to some of our favourite South Downs walks you can take straight from our family friendly pub in West Sussex.

The Levin Circular

Take the circular route to the top of Levin Down for a great walk that starts and finishes at our car park. This three-mile country walk meanders through the Levin Down Nature Reserve and is a great choice for canine and owner alike. Taking around 90 minutes to complete, the walk includes some great views, diverse wildlife and is an ideal length for a post pub lunch. This walk is also easy to shorten, making it a great choice for families. Click here for the route.

The Wooded Estate Loop

If you are after a longer pub walk near Chichester, why not work up an appetite for your pub lunch by exploring the hilltops around Singleton on this 6.5 mile trek. This varied walk passes through several West Sussex woodland estates and even crosses the old disused railway line which runs between Midhurst and Chichester. After this scenic 3.5 hour walk, a pint and delicious pub supper in our cosy West Sussex country pub will feel all the more deserved! Click here for the route.

The Trundle

If you like a little history in your pre-pub walk, then why not make your way from The Partridge Inn up to the historic Trundle near Goodwood where you can see two Bronze Age Cross Dykes. This walk takes around 1.5 hours from Singleton to the top of the South Downs, which means after enjoying panoramic views across West Sussex, you will be back at our family friendly Chichester pub in good time for our traditional Sunday lunch. Click here for the route.
